Founder

Robert Gunby

Prior to RTG Capital, Gunby was Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at American National Bank of Texas where he originated over $1 billion in commercial real estate loans, participating in over $650 million of those originations with other lending institutions. Mr. Gunby consistently managed a loan portfolio of over $400 million, which mainly consisted of construction loans. Earlier, Mr. Gunby was a commercial real estate lender at Colonial Bank where he was involved in over $350 million in loan originations and managed a loan portfolio of over $100 million. Mr. Gunby graduated with a business degree from Mercer University and received an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Gunby is a CCIM, has an active sales license in the state of Texas, and is involved in TREC. Mr. Gunby has served on the board of directors for Friends of Wednesday Child, which serves foster children in North Texas.

Our Story

RTG Capital is an investment and development company that acquires value add properties to rehab, develops and invests in a wide range of property types. RTG Capital has also consulted on placing debt and/or equity for clients for the purpose of acquisition, construction, or refinance of commercial real estate, as well as for notes secured by real estate.

RTG Capital also looks for investment and development opportunities that includes but are not limited to note acquisitions, operating entities, and real estate.

RTG Capital’s Principal has acted as a general partner in the acquisition and rehab of multi-family, hotels, and retail properties in Texas and Colorado. RTG Capital has also acted as general partner in the development of Class A multifamily, retail centers, single family homes, single tenant build-to-suits specializing in dollar stores and auto parts stores across the country.

Debt & Equity

Since its inception in 2009, RTG Capital has assisted clients in obtaining over $300 million in debt and equity. Property types have included hotels, rehab and behavioral care facilities, senior living facilities, condo tower, retail centers, and other property types. RTG Capital has also helped sell and acquire bank notes, and provided consulting services for large funds looking to acquire bank notes or REO properties.
